“Let There Be Light” is a 32×45 cm mixed-media collage on cardboard completed in 2019.
It weaves lace overlays, laser-printed fragments, and acrylic strokes into layered planes of light and shadow.
At the center, a minimalist outline pays homage to Leonardo da Vinci’s Lady with an Ermine, his celebrated portrait of Cecilia Gallerani—an icon of purity and moderation painted circa 1489–1491.
Geometric arches and subtle triangular motifs nod to da Vinci’s alleged Masonic symbolism, hinting at hidden codes and enlightenment.
Above, two riders cycle across a celestial sky, while a faint all-seeing eye hovers in the layered background.
Selected for the anthology The Best 2021 Modern and Contemporary Artists, this work fuses Renaissance legacy with contemporary collage innovation.
